About Thrive Tours:
Thrive Tours is an Indigenous-owned and operated tour company based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We specialize in providing unique and immersive outdoor experiences that offer participants an opportunity to learn about and connect with Indigenous history, traditions, and the natural world.

Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Summer Outdoor Adventure Guides to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the outdoors, Indigenous culture, and sharing knowledge with others. Our guides play a crucial role in leading and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our participants during various outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and cultural workshops.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead outdoor activities, ensuring a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for all participants.
-Share knowledge of local Indigenous history, traditions, and environmental stewardship.
-Prepare and maintain equipment and safety gear for activities.
-Provide first aid and emergency response as needed.
-Assist in planning and customizing tours to meet the interests and abilities of participants.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
-Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a related field (Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Studies, Indigenous Studies, etc.).
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Previous experience in outdoor guiding, teaching, or related field is preferred.
-First Aid and CPR certification.
-A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to environmental conservation and cultural respect.
-Preference will be given to First Nations, Inuit and Métis people
-Canoe or kayak certifications (preferred)
Requirements:
*This is a Summer Canada Student Job Program

(a) is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

(b) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the

Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27]*; and

(c) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
